My Host says that Mod_rewrite is on but its
not working?
Please verifyed that "AllowOverride All " is set
ON in the main httpd.conf.
Include : "RewriteBase /" directly bellow the
first: RewriteEngine On line inside the rcp
.htaccess file

How do i temporary disable Robot Control Pro
?
The easiest and quickest way to disable RCP is
to rename the rcp .htaccess file. Or
temporary remove it from your server.
(Always keep a backup file of your current
active .htaccess file). Removing the rcp
.htaccess file will turn off most of the
functions from rcp. There is no need to remove
rcp folders or script files. Simply rename the
rcp .htaccess file.

How do i remove Robot Control Pro ?
In order to remove Robot Control Pro ... Delete
the folder named "robot" from your web folder
and remove the folder named "robot" in your
cgi-bin folder and remove the RCP .htaccess file
from your web folder. With deleting these files
you have fully removed RCP from your server. (
Do this at your own risk)

Oeps .. I banned myself ... How to un-ban
yourself?
Thanks for testing. Yes RCP really works. So if
you fool around and test things or RCP has not
correctly been installed then is it possible
that you ban yourself. Now this really ain't no
big problem as you easily can un-ban yourself.
Most of the time you have no access to the RCP
admin area.
Here is what to do: connect with a ftp client to
your website. Download the .htaccess file open
the .htaccess file in a plain text editor. And
remove the complete line that contains your IP
address. Then re-upload the .htaccess file. Your
un-banned and RCP is activated again. You can
also login to your RCP admin area from a
different computer with a different IP to un-ban
yourself.
IMPORTANT as site owner or webmaster you should
add your own IP to the never ban list. So RCP
knows what ever you do or try its Ok!

I have installed rcp myself and i am not sure
if everything is working?
A) For those who have installed RCP 4.0
themselves. Listen carefully! It's very
important that you contact RCP support using
email to request a free RCP site test. This
means that one of the Webcomposing.com RCP staff
members will test all RCP functions on your
website and if needed will correct the install
mistakes and permissions. After this test the
staff member will contact you to confirm that
rcp is working 100% correctly. (Mistakes are
easily made so make sure you request a rcp site
check. It‚s for your own safety)
B) For clients who have more experience with
installing perl scripts. Visit the RCP news page
scroll down to the section to request the
„Quick Installer ReadMe‰ this file
contains testing steps as well. Enter your email
address and you will directly receive this read
me file.

I am not sure if my RCP is still working
correctly.
Yes it's possible that over a long period RCP
suddenly is not working correctly. (Why and how
is this possible).
A) You or the webmaster has modified or removed
the RCP .htaccess file or required coding lines
by RCP are missing or corrupt. RCP files are in
the wrong location on your server. RCP File
permissions are chmoded incorrect.
Any one who has problems with RCP should
directly contact RCP support by email to request
as mush free help and advise as needed to get
RCP back working.

During installation i am only getting 501 and
500 - International Server Errors.
If your getting errors it means that the RCP cgi
files or robot folders are not chmoded
correctly. Its important that all the RCP files
are having the correct server permissions.
(Double or triple check the file permissions.
Only one has to be wrong and nothing will
work).
The robot folder with themplates should be
chmoded 777 the html files inside 666. The RCP
cgi-bin/robot folder must be chmoded 755, All
RCP files ending with the name .cgi must be
chmoded 755 all other RCP files in your
cgi-bin/robot folder must be chmoded 666. First
install all scripts and files and as final step
install the RCP .htaccess file.
If you do nto have the skills to solve these
errors then Pls contact RCP support by email and
will we help, advise you and make sure that rcp
will work fine.

I found that i may have corrupted my rcp
.htaccess file by changing items using my hosts
Cpanel application. I think adding a deny ip by
cpanel and redirect by cpanel might be a bad
thing to do?
if the host control panel is modifeing the rcp
htaccess file. Yes then it could get corrupt.
Why ban a ip in cpanel if you use and can use
RCP manually to ban a ip. Click the ornage
button in rcp admin area. changing settings in
the cpanel should not harm the rcp .ghtaccess
file. This is why you got to have the
ok.rcp.back.htaccess file .. allways backup your
latest rcp working htaccess file .... When
things like this happen its best to email RCP
support and let them have a look and test your
cpanel to see if its can do harm to the rcp
htaccess file
